Dumpster Sizes for Del Rey Projects

Del Rey projects tend to run bigger than the average garage cleanout, so most of our customers here land in the 20 to 40-yard range. That said, the right size depends on what you are loading. Dense material like dirt or concrete reaches weight limits long before it fills the box, while bulky brush and vine prunings do the opposite. See our full dumpster sizes breakdown for photos and loading tips, then use the table below as a starting point.

Size	Dimensions (L x W x H)	Weight Limit	Best For
10-yard	12 x 8 x 3.5 ft	~2 tons	Small barn cleanouts, single outbuilding tear-downs
12-yard	14 x 7.5 x 3.5 ft	~2-3 tons	Mid-size barn, shed, and fence-line cleanouts
15-yard	16 x 7.5 x 4 ft	~2-4 tons	Medium cleanouts, shed and fence-line clearing
20-yard	22 x 8 x 4.5 ft	~2-3 tons	Vineyard block tear-outs, large brush clearing
30-yard	22 x 8 x 6 ft	~3-5 tons	Whole-barn cleanouts, ranch renovations
40-yard	22 x 8 x 8 ft	~4-5 tons	Major tear-outs, multi-structure demolition debris

Del Rey, CA: Local Notes Before You Rent a Dumpster

Del Rey began as Clifton and was renamed by the railroad in 1898, after the Rancho del Rey where the station stood. Today it is a small farm town of about 1,350 residents, 3.5 miles south of Sanger, so most jobs here involve barns, sheds, fence lines, and vineyard or orchard clearing rather than curbside cleanups.

Orchard and vine debris is bulky but light, while old posts, concrete pads, and dirt are heavy, so it helps to plan the two separately. Our guides to yard waste and storm cleanup dumpsters and heavy debris dumpsters explain how weight changes the right size, and the Fresno dumpster permit guide covers placement rules. If a deadline is close, ask about same-day dumpster rental.

Del Rey Delivery and Placement: What to Know

Rural delivery is a different skill than dropping a container in a subdivision, and it is where local experience pays off for your dumpster rental in Del Rey, CA. Most Del Rey properties have long private drives, sometimes dirt and sometimes gravel, and our drivers will place your container exactly where you want it: beside the barn, at the edge of the field road, or on the pad by the shop.

If the ground is soft from irrigation or recent rain, we lay boards under the rails to spread the weight. Just make sure the path is clear of low branches and parked equipment, share your gate code or combination when you book your dumpster rental in Del Rey, CA, and keep livestock secured on delivery day.

If you are clearing a vineyard or orchard block, think about access for the full-size truck and trailer that will deliver and later collect your dumpster rental in Del Rey, CA. We need a straight shot roughly as wide as a farm gate, with enough overhead clearance for the lift and enough room to maneuver once the box is on the ground. Tell us about your layout when you call and we will help you pick a placement that keeps the driver moving and your operation running.

Unincorporated Fresno County note: Del Rey sits outside any city limit, so county rules, not city rules, govern right-of-way use. A container kept entirely on your private property typically needs no permit at all. If it must sit on a county road or shoulder, Fresno County may require an encroachment permit. When in doubt, keep it on your driveway or ranch road and skip the paperwork entirely. You can verify current requirements on the Fresno County website before booking your dumpster rental in Del Rey, CA.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you deliver dumpster rentals to Del Rey, CA?

Yes. We deliver roll-off dumpsters throughout Del Rey (ZIP 93616) and the surrounding southeast Fresno County farm communities, with same-day or next-day delivery when the schedule allows. Del Rey sits about 12 miles southeast of downtown Fresno, so call early in the day, give us the property address and gate details, and we will confirm the delivery window.

What size dumpster works for a vineyard tear-out?

It depends on the size of the block and whether posts and wire are coming out too. A small block often fits a 20-yard container, while larger tear-outs with posts, stakes, and trellis wire usually need a 30 or 40-yard box or a scheduled swap-out. Concrete posts and dirt add weight quickly, so mention them when you call and we will help match the size to the job.

How long can I keep the dumpster?

Every rental includes a standard rental period, and extensions are available if the job runs long. Rural projects such as barn cleanouts or vineyard tear-outs often take longer than planned because of weather, harvest work, or equipment schedules. Call before your scheduled pickup date to arrange extra days, and mention any gate codes or access changes so the driver can plan the visit.

Can I load orchard prunings, vines, and brush?

Yes. Green waste such as orchard prunings, vines, stumps, and brush can go in the container. Keep dirt, concrete, and household hazardous materials out of the green waste, since mixed heavy loads are handled differently. Cut long branches down so the load packs tightly, stay below the fill line, and tell us what you are loading when you book so the right size is planned.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Del Rey?

Del Rey is unincorporated Fresno County, so there is no city permit involved. A dumpster kept on private property, such as a driveway, farmyard, or ranch road, typically needs no permit at all. If the container must sit on a county road or shoulder, the county may require an encroachment permit, so check with Fresno County first. Placing it on your own land avoids that step.

What items cannot go in the dumpster?

Hazardous waste cannot go in the container, including tires, batteries, paint, chemicals, asbestos, and propane tanks. On farm properties this also covers pesticide and fertilizer containers and used oil. Appliances containing refrigerants need special handling. If you are unsure about an item, call us before loading and we will tell you whether it is accepted or where to take it.
