Fresno Free Dump Days 2026: Fall Schedule
The City of Fresno’s Solid Waste Management Division runs three Free Dump Days each fall at the Cedar Avenue Recycling and Transfer Station (CARTS), 3457 S. Cedar Ave. Each event runs from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Who Can Use a Free Dump Day
Free Dump Days are open to City of Fresno residential solid waste customers only, not businesses, landlords of multi-unit properties, or residents of other cities. Bring two things to the gate: a current City of Fresno Department of Public Utilities bill (or a signed Proof of Eligibility Form if you’re not the account holder) and a state-issued ID. Show up without both and CARTS staff can turn you away.
What You Can Bring?
Accepted items include:
- Furniture (couches, chairs, tables, dressers)
- Major appliances
- Mattresses and carpet
- Wood and yard trimmings
- Scrap metal
- Drywall and general construction debris
Clean asphalt and concrete are accepted separately, year-round, Monday through Friday, so you don’t need to wait for a scheduled event for those.
What’s Not Allowed?
CARTS staff will turn away:
- Tires
- Batteries
- Electronic waste (TVs, computers, monitors)
- Household hazardous waste (paint, pesticides, chemicals)
- Medical or infectious waste
- Liquid waste, sewage, or sludge
- Live ammunition
- Dead animals, dirt, or soil
Bringing a prohibited item, or a load bigger than the limit below, can lead to civil or criminal penalties, so it’s worth sorting your load before you drive out.
How Much Fits in One Trip?
Eligible participants are limited to one full-size pickup truck payload per household, roughly 8′ x 4′ x 4′. Bulky items can also be delivered by trailer as long as the load doesn’t exceed that same limit.
